Walberswick Painting Days - 27th to 29th July

'm running a three-day Plein Air Drawing and Painting Course in Walberswick, Suffolk on Saturday 27th, Sunday 28th and Monday 29th July. We will be based at Walberswick Village Hall (alongside the annual Anglian Potters' Coastal Exhibition). Explore and improve your drawing, painting and observational skills in this dream of a painter's location. Within a very short distance there is a unique estuary harbour with the famous hand-rowed ferry to Southwold, atmospheric fishermans' huts, a charming village green surrounded by seaside cottages and sweeping dunes leading to a sandy beach.

Suitable for new painters as well as those with previous experience. Three days of demonstrations, lots of painting, inspiring instruction, tips for effective, enjoyable outdoor painting - limited to 10 artists. The emphasis will be on working outdoors with oil paints and drawing media and I'll be sharing techniques that helped me complete 64 pictures in 64 days in the summer of 2015.

On the first day, we'll stay close to the rear of the village hall where there is a great view over the dunes towards the sea. On day two, we'll go over to the village green to observe the cottages (which are all different). On the third day, we'll walk the short distance to the harbour where there are fishing huts, moored boats of all kinds, holidaymakers and the unique houses on stilts.

The course cost is £55 per day. Two days for £104.50 and all three at £148.50. Tea, coffee and biscuits are supplied but you'll bring your own packed lunches. Alternatively, there are several places to eat in the village.

A recommended equipment and materials list will be sent to participants if required.

Several places have already been booked by regular students and other local artists. To secure your place, please get in touch straight away. You can use the contact form on this website or email me directly to malcolmsstudio@hotmail.co.uk
